Fair trade products gives society opportunities to be civic in their everyday life while also benefiting themselves. They market that once you see their logo you know you are getting “quality products that improve lives and protect the planet.”
This is how the company convinces consumers to buy from them. Although you frequently hear about Fair Trade coffee, they have many products to appeal to a larger audience; apparel, home goods, beans & grains, body care, cocoa, plants, fruits, seafood, sugar, wine and many other products that give a wide appeal. They especially appeal to US businesses because Fair Trades goal is to connect farmers, cooperatives and US businesses and create relationships. I think that their attempts to appeal to their consumers is strong. They give irrefutable statistics about the 1.2 million farmers and families that they support and give specific information about the people, their situation and what Fair Trade is doing to help them. They use strong ethos here also because they show the farmers who are struggling that you will directly help if you buy from Fair Trade. Fair Trade hits all stops by also proving they are credible, reliable and clearly trusted by many by impressively listing hundreds of partners that they are paired up with. These manufacturers, brand holders and importers are located all over the United States such as San Fran Coffee Company, Naked Juice Company an Nutivia. They also prove ethos by providing dozens of articles and reports of them in the news doing good for the community. The company Fair trade has such potential to be successful and is proving they are successful because they make it clear that contributing to them is a no brainer. Their products are things that any family needs and buys on a regular basis anyway so why not buy from them knowing that your money is going to a good cause and you are getting a quality product out of it.
